Life Priorities and Happiness List Prayer
What to Pray? What to Pray? How do I get started? The answer a happiness priorities list for your personal life. I realized it was the perfect little prayer sheet.
Life was getting hectic and busy and I decided to apply my business practices of prioritization of the important stuff to my personal life. It is also a well known technique for successful people. To make your list it might take a few rounds to make a nice concise list. The list should be not more than 10 items and less is even better. Think of the things that make you Happy and pray on them. It is a great reminder of what makes us happy in this crazy world.
Now the pray start with a Hail Mary to get you in the praying mood and the say an Our Father. These two prayers can put you in the right mood for your Life Priorities and Happiness List.
The Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen
The Hail Mary is a request to Mary to pray for us to her son Jesus and for us to start thinking about Jesus.
Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Now start to think and pray about your Life Priorities and Happiness List. This list can and does change over time
Life Priorities and Happiness List
as an example
- God
- Spouse
- Kids
- Health
- Family
- Job
- Church
- Friends
- Community
- Special Event coming up
The list may be general, but you do is start thinking and praying about what is on the list.
- My Spouse – I pray that she knows I love her and what can I do today to let her know
- Health – I pray I eat a salad today verse a sandwich from the store
- Job – maybe I have a new personal project I’m going to undertake
- God – I pray that I read the link to the daily prayers (http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/index.cfm)
- Friends – I pray for the family moving away that they arrive safe and enjoy their new home.
So it is more than just reading the list, but praying for items within the list.
I like to finish with an Our Father, just to remind me about God, before I go off on my day.
As you can see my list is on a yellow sticky note that I keep in my wallet, so it is there every day.
God Bless
