Tithing 10% of Your Time Gains to Prayer
As many others may do I like to give back when I gain benefits. To many the tithing is related to money gains. To that I say sure, giving 10 percent to the Church or Charity is awesome. But what about gains in time? Recently I switched jobs and gained 30 minutes of my day back from my commute. If I were to apply a 10% tithing rule to that 30 minutes, that would be 3 minutes of time I could give to God.
I wrote a blog post about what can fit into a 3 minute pray and it is a lot. Go ahead and time it for yourself.
Think about it. 3 minutes may seem such a small amount of time, but when was the last time we prayed Daily. I know there have been many times that I have forgotten to pray and I will admit it. I working on that and hopefully I will get better.
For many a job change may not result in a gain of salary or pay, but you could be gaining free time. Figure out that gained time and figure a percentage to share back to God.
An interesting thing happened when taking a picture for this posting. The page I turned to in an old family Bible was a brief paragraph about the early church and this was written:
…When they were asked for alms, Peter answered: “Silver and gold I have none; but what I have, that I give thee. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, arise and walk.”

Now what are the odds of that? Here Peter, had no money to give, but prayer to Jesus.
So pray an extra 3 minutes for being given that extra 30 minutes back to your day.
Here is a Morning Offering to get you started. Good Luck and God Bless.
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I offer You my prayers, works,
joys and sufferings
of this day for all the intentions
of Your Sacred Heart,
in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
throughout the world.
I offer them for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart;
the salvation of souls,
in reparation for my sins,
for the intentions of all our associates,
my relatives and friends, our bishops
and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father.
Amen.
